The positioning of the bellows in a V-shape optimises the integration of the interface which connects the watch mechanisms with the fluidic system. The HYT H2 comes with a screwed case back and a screw-down crown that make the watch water-resistant up to 50 meters. Of course, the development was not that easy and HYT had to face several industrialisation and reliability issues — that are now fixed. Of course, the HYT team is composed of watchmakers and talented engineers with their sister company Preciflex. As the watch is filled with liquid, high or low temperatures can affect the viscosity and thus, the displacement of the liquids. It allows focusing more on the dial and indications. The H2 is made to establish the reputation of the brand and prove to the rest of the industry how serious is the concept. Subscribe to our newsletter Stay up to date with the latest post and updates.
The latter is connected to the crown and tells the wearer in which position the crown is. The first H1 was made to create the buzz. It has to be read on its own sapphire track, located just inside the green tube. In one was an aqueous liquid filled with fluorescein here in red , and in the other, a transparent viscous liquid. The positioning of the bellows in a V-shape optimises the integration of the interface which connects the watch mechanisms with the fluidic system. All the technical elements — gear train, escapement module and pistons — are fully exposed.

After HYT put the horological world upside down with the introduction of their H1mehanical seduced all of us with this hydromechanical wonder, they are now launching the follow-up, named H2.
What is even more surprising is how fast the mechaincal introduced a second watch, using the same concept of a fluidic indication but with an even more complicated movement and display. The milled bezel of the H1 is totally removed and replaced by a highly cambered sapphire crystal that goes all over the dial.
HYT — or the Hydromechanical Horologists — have made something special: The multiple small bridges are made in titanium, skeletonized and Black DLC coated with a microblasted finish. Water clocks mecchanical as old as time, inaccuracy of this magnitude is unforgivable. Accuracy is critical for us as for any other brand, no question about it!

Of course, the development was not that easy and HYT had to face several industrialisation and reliability issues — that are now fixed. To ensure its wearability as a regatta watch, this HYT H4 features a screw-down crown made of DLC coated titanium and rubber and the strap is made of a black rubber base with integrated NOMEX fabric centre — a high performance synthetic fibre designed to be used in extreme conditions.

The dial shows an exceptional depth and gives the HYT H2 something extremely futuristic, industrial and mechanical. All the technical elements — gear train, escapement module and pistons — are fully exposed.
Daily or weekly newsletter? In the context of the Hydo H2, these two modules are now fully integrated in a single movement. Subscribe to our newsletter? This is another improvement over the H1, which offers 65 hours of autonomy when fully wound.
The escapement module is not the only mechanical part exposed, as the gear train and the several wheels that actuate the large minute hand are also fully visible on the front. On the one hand you seem to be a big fan of watches with force constante ultimate precision and on the other hand you also defend a watch which clearly lacks of any chronometric precision.
A pure gimmick should at least funktion right as it does not add any usefull function. For more info, please visit the HYT website. The H2 offers three additional indicators; a power reserve indicator,a temperature indicator and a HNR indicator. We tested this watch and we felt in love with it, just because of the rationality and serious of the concept.
N for Neutral — H for setting the time — R for winding. The HYT H1 was more classical in its approach. Disappointed you have chosen to herald this piece. The latter is connected to the crown and tells the wearer in which position the crown is. The meniscus, in the shape of a half moon, marks the breaking point with the other fluid in the tube, wath the time. Mechanicwl one was an aqueous liquid filled with fluorescein here in redand in the other, a transparent viscous liquid.
The H2 offers a power reserve indicator that tells how much of the hours or 8 days of power are left in the two main spring barrels. I have the deepest hyrdo for your blog and opinions which I read almost everyday. At least the owner I know seems to have accepted it….

Because the bridges have been finished before the coating, some parts are obviously sand blasted and others have been satin finished or brushed before the coating.
Of course the H2 would have this device too. Does a concept that cannot display time properly not disqualify itself?
